Football Shoes

Football boots are worn by football players for a stable and secure grip on the football field. They are usually divided into cam shoes, multi-cam shoes or stud shoes that can be fitted with screw-in studs.

Classification of the football boots category

The football boot is the most important piece of equipment for a kicker. A lot depends on the choice of the right football boots: the speed when starting and a good feeling on the ball.

Requirements for a good football boot

Enthusiastic football players, whether Bundesliga players or junior kickers in the county class, need special shoes that are optimally adapted to the different surface they are playing on. Generally, one differentiates between different soles:

  • AG – Artificial Ground (for artificial turf)
  • FG – Firm Ground (for natural grass and ashes)
  • HG – Hard Ground (for ash and artificial turf)
  • IN – Indoor (for indoor floors)
  • SG – Soft Ground (for natural grass & deep, moist, muddy soils) and
  • TF – Turf (for hard floors).

If you play on natural grass, you need footwear with thick and deep studs. They give grip on the deep and in the rain also slippery lawn. On screw studs should, however, do without parents who want to buy the right football boots for their offspring.

More and more football fields, especially in the junior area, are equipped with the easy-care artificial turf. For this rather blunt and hard rubber there are special shoes with shorter and thinner pimples. They give the foot on the artificial lawn the appropriate grip – and protect against injury.

The third football shoe variant is the pure hall shoe. Although you can kick the artificial grass shoes in the hall, real shoes for indoor soccer but have the better grip and are also beneficial in fast pressure movements in a very small space.

The shoe must fit, it must neither push nor have too much “air”. The right football boot is a feel-good shoe. With him, kicking is great fun. Shape and color, on the other hand, should not play a dominant role as selection criteria. The first football boot of his life should be kept as a lucky charm.
