Women’s Shoes

The favorite shopping object of many women is the shoe. Obviously, there are shoes in countless designs and for countless occasions, especially for women’s feet of any size and shape. So you are well dressed for any occasion below.

Classification of the category ladies shoes

The feminine fascination for shoes is not a phenomenon of the modern age – trend-setters in the matter of footwear already existed among the rulers of the Nile, as well as in ancient Asian courts. Women’s shoes, in contrast to their male counterparts, were less and less characterized by the demand for comfort than fashionable extravagance.

Around 400 AD, the hitherto flat sandals of the Mediterranean got for women’s heels. High heels testified to the wearer’s social status, for only those who wore stilts that did not allow them to move might be able to afford to be carried in a litter by servants.

In the late Middle Ages, there was also momentum in the hitherto neglected Central European shoe fashion. For the affluent ladies, delicate fabrics such as velvet and silk became popular, making the shoes so susceptible to dirt and material cracks that they were almost always concealed under slip covers.

Women of the common people wore instead of the luxury version usually purposeful wooden clogs with front and back equally high heels. The heels made for a reasonably dry passage through the unpaved muddy roads.

Development up to the present time

Whereas until the early 20th century the skirt seams were so long that the ankle boots could hardly be seen underneath, the feminine shoe fashion moved into focus from the 1920s. At that time, the pumps established themselves as universal women’s shoes for every season and dominate until today the ladies shoe fashion.
